Windows 10 ends
So does the support

I had this article pop up on the MSN home page talking about Microsoft no longer supporting Windows 10. It occurred to me that a lot of seniors believe in the motto, "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it," and they probably still run Windows 10.
It's important to allow Windows to install updates to prevent some 18-year-old sitting at a bar in Thailand from wiping out your bank account.
I'll post a link to the article below.
When they talk about backup, times have changed from the old brick hard drives to what are called SSD drives, and I'll post a link to one of mine in use. What's important to remember when backing up your system is that Windows backs up the whole thing as one file, recognizable only to Windows.
You will not be able to find the photo of your cat; it's not there. My advice is to purchase an SSD drive twice the capacity of what's on your system. Allow Windows to do its backup, then back up individual folders containing photos and documents. There are hundreds of YouTube videos on this for instructions.
Super70steve is a big fan of redundancy. When you’re done backing up your favorite cat photo, then back it up to the cloud, God forbid you suffer a house fire.
