What's a life worth

This photo represents a milestone in my life when I discovered what life is worth.
I was hunting near the Pocono Racetrack when a deer walked out at about 40 yards using the bow hanging in the tree. Since it was a far shot, I choked up on the stock and let the arrow fly. Unfortunately, my finger was above the shot rail and the string cut my fingertip off, thankfully not all the way off but just a dangler.
Instinct took over and I put the finger back together while 20 feet up a tree. I took my boot off and put my sock over the finger and secured it with a boot lace, climbed down the tree and went to the hospital barefoot. The doctor later told me that the moist blood-soaked sock is what kept my fingertip alive.
I found out it was a manufacturing defect, and to this day all crossbows have a hump in the stock. Now I'm upset, so for the first time, I tried to hire an attorney. It was explained to me that at my age and income level, my finger wasn't worth enough to sue. If it had been a six-figure lawyer, then we could have talked.
The reason I mentioned this is that some of my neighbors are laughing at my $60,000 settlement, which I consider more than reasonable. MPD and Keystone Towing, when they stole my car, unbeknownst to me, actually stole the last two healthy years of my life. My life from today forward will be tied to a medical device along with the associated aches and pains.
Let me ask you, McAdoo, what price would you put on the last two healthy years of your life?
