Water water everywhere
But none to drink

After getting my blog fix in for the night, I turned on the news and now we have gone from talking about bunker-busting bombs to tactical nukes or baby nukes, usually fired from a cannon.
Now might be a good time to remind my fellow old farts to pick up a water purifier. They are cheap, plentiful, and work! I have accumulated over half a dozen, usually on sale during the off camping season.
I have one high-quality filter that I will use for my water supply and cooking. I also have several bag gravity-fed filters that I will use for showers, dishes, and water for the dog. What's nice is you can waddle down to the stream first thing, scoop up a bag of water, hang it from a tree, and by the time you're done setting up camp, your water is ready.
I'll post a few links to my choices to give you an idea. With all the nuke talk, it might be responsible to keep one handy. They don’t filter out radiation but work great on some pretty dirty-looking water. During a nuclear event, the SOP is to do an initial air burst to take out the power grid, and there will be no power to filter your water.
Living on the road for any length of time requires patience and some common sense. I will use my water from my quality personal water filter straight from the filter without reservation. If there is a problem and I get sick, help is only a car ride away, unless you’re the guy from the movie "Into The Wild". Under a war footing, I would boil it since there will be no doctors to visit.
