The last on my list is shelter. I splurged on this and picked up MSR Thru-Hiker Mesh House 1. There are cheaper China knockoffs on Amazon. It is basically a screen tent with a waterproof floor and requires a tarp for a roof when it rains. It packs down to the size of a water bottle. MSR makes a matching tarp, but I had one already. These tarps are for backpacking and different than the Kmart blue tarps, think soft bed sheet that is waterproof. I also have an insulated sleeping pad to help with the Arthritis question is will it all fit in my 32 liter go bag. The red bag in photo has the tent next to a water bottle for comparison.
