This photo is a screen shot using software from an app that I use called the dyrt. I think it cost $50 for a year and another worthwhile purchase. All the little markers represent different camp sites currently available near me covering everything from expensive KOA to free dispersed campsite.
I currently have several trips planned, for me it's simply a matter of finding closed mine dumps using the USGS website. Then plug the mine location into this program and instantly have every available campsite pop up including description, cost and directions often allowing reservations right from the app.
The first trip I started to plan was for the spring taking into consideration weather mainly since the area I want to explore range from 120 in the summer down south to lower 80's up around Oregon. Unfortunately due to the continued MPD corruption I had to shelf that trip and start one for the summer. This app allowes me to store dozens of preplanned adventures.
I have discovered many useful trip hacks and tips that I'll share for the creation of your own adventure. Life is short, join me 😀
