Food take #2

I started to gather some food for the bag and realized I screwed up. The freeze-dried meals expire on 12/28 but are larger and bulky for a go bag; I’ll save them for my car camping trip once I get my car back. The energy bars expire on 11/24 and the same for oatmeal, this is unacceptable. The tea bags and drink mix’s I’ll keep and store in my cook pot.

I decided on a simple energy survival bar. They have a two-year self-life. It would be a good idea to make a tape tag on bag handle when it’s time to rotate stock.

I will be using two 3-liter dry bags, one for food and one for gear. These are from Outdoor Research.

Make sure the food in the bag is sealed. I left a Snicker bar in my hunting bag at the end of the season. The mice smelled the candy then drilled a one-inch hole through my bag, then set up a mouse hotel.
