NEVER OLD FOR ADVENTURES

Cop

For two years, I was abused by MPD while McAdoo Council did nothing as my fellow neighbors enjoyed the spectacle. Even the fired officer 86 had the audacity to charge me with being a 30-year nuisance. McAdoo, you remember Officer Borchick—he's the man the paper celebrated as our savior—who stole my car and then was quietly slipped out the back door to be forever forgotten about.

After two years of abuse, let's be brutally honest. Chief DiVirgilio, why do you think it took so long to become Chief? Allow me to enlighten you. The truth is McAdoo Council thinks you’re unqualified—basically an idiot—but a dependable idiot. The fact that it took this long to become Chief should be self-evident. Unfortunately, no one on Council has the courage to tell you, so I pay the price.

There is no doubt that I was a target for harassment, but I do not feel that it was because you care about the rule of law, as Chief DiVirgilio only cares about the Chief. The law and order facade is merely there to collect a paycheck and play with cop toys.

It's difficult to guess who the Wizard behind the curtain pulling our idiots' chain is, but my guess would be Mayor Vilcheck.

The truth is I don't have a clue why. I lived in McAdoo for 30 years, 25 of those years owning this waste of money. For the first 5 years, I worked for American Homes as an over-the-road worker charged with fixing the company's mistakes. I left Monday morning and did not return until Friday. The last 17 years were spent working as a boilerman for Altadis, working 6 to 7 days a week. The point to all of this is that I was never home to be a "nuisance taxpayer."

I spent my entire life, minus the last two years, free of any criminal record. I have always respected the police in the past, willing to jump in and help an officer in distress. That is forever lost thanks to Chief DiVirgilio; now I will, in true McAdoo fashion, peek through the blinds, see someone in need of help, then close the blinds and go back to watching TV.

I would love to have left McAdoo feeling the same way, but I will forever be changed, never trusting another cop until the day I die. I have no idea what I did to Vilcheck, and the point is moot. Hopefully, McAdoo will stop electing burnt-out retired cops for office; no offense, but any retired officer is damaged goods—nothing personal, just a job hazard.

I felt that I was always a good neighbor, offering to help while being ignored. I was the nuisance taxpayer out at 3 AM to clear snow from my neighbors' walkways while never having one person offer help to an old disabled neighbor.

In closing, before I leave—and trust me, this is from the bottom of my heart—McAdoo, kiss my ass! My life has value!
