Our Battle Ready Police

I moved around a lot during my childhood. The upside is you see more neighborhoods that I can remember. I wanted to experience what it would be like to own a home and plant roots, be careful what you wish for.

In all of those neighborhoods I can't remeber seeing one police officer, not alone his name. I made it through all of my life without a criminal record. Now I have been labled a terrorist and I still do not know why.

The point is that I see things differently, not smarter or special, just different. Take this photo of McAdoo OIC DiVirgilio, this is what I see with an untrained eye:

I see a miliary grade FLACK vest with multiple pockets for steel plates, I see a cell phone with uncovered lens along with three other body cam and one curious pull tab by his fly, maybe a zip cam. There is a stun gun, hand held tazer, pepper spray and what looks like a pepper grenade. Plus a myriad of inspector gadjet tools along with service sidearm, probably an ankle gun finishing off the ensemble with a fancy fighting knife.

My point is do we need our day shift officer to look like he is ready to deply to Ukrainian for war or patrol McAdoo. I have included two photos, one pre Rambo and the other of Philadelphis cops patrolling a war zone.

There needs to be an adult in the room when it comes to managing a borouhgs police. You would think Robocop would be a red flag.
